Upcoming Food Drives

The next three dates are:

Saturday 22nd July 2017

Saturday 19th August 2017

Saturday 23rd September 2017

A word about toiletries...

We are very grateful to everyone who donates to the Burgess Hill Community Food Bank - the service couldn't operate without your donations.

Over the last year however, we have built up a large stock of donated toiletries, that we do not have room to store and that experience tells us will not be taken by our clients. We will be passing them on to another organisation.

We are therefore requesting that you continue to be generous in your donations - but please stick to food and not toiletries.

New Dump Bin for Hurstpierpoint

We have another new dump bin in Hurstpierpoint. This one is at the Coop, so a big thank you to them for allowing us to put it there.

Two New Dump Bins

We now have two new Dump bins, one is in Hurst Library and the other is at 'Space for Spiritual Living' (Keymer Rd, Hassocks). Please do feel free to drop any food you would like to donate to us there (we cover clients in Hurst & Hassocks as well as other surrounding villages)

Food Bank service for Hurstpierpoint

The Food Bank is now open to exchange vouchers for food in Hurstpierpoint on Wednesday mornings from 9am - 11.30 at the Melting Point Cafe at the Social Club in Willow Way.

New Dump Bin at Waitrose

We are delighted to announce that there is now a permanent Dump Bin for food donations inside Waitrose Burgess Hill.

Another big thank you to Waitrose for supporting the Food Bank so generously.

Letter in the Middy

There was a letter from Foodbank Trustee Tony Sparasci in the Middy recently, thanking everyone who has helped during the last year:

Opening of new Coop

Burgess Hill Community Foodbank is benefitting from £500 donation and the installation of two new collection points in the town with the opening of a second community food store by The Southern Co-operative.
The opening of The Southern Co-operative’s new store at 86 Junction Road in Burgess Hill (26 November) has created 16 new jobs. The store was officially opened by Sharon Benefer from Burgess Hill Foodbank and Store Manager Steve Jarvis

New dumpbin at Oakmeeds

We have a new dumpbin in the reception area at Oakmeeds School, ready and waiting to accept your donations...

There is now a food collection point at Miss Mabel's Magnificent Emporium, which is next to Wickes on Victoria Road, Burgess Hill. The dump bin is upstairs, and we can't accept fresh or frozen foods.

Permanent food collection points now open

Permanent collection bins for food donations have been set up at the Help Point, Church Walk, Burgess Hill, in Burgess Hill Library, and now also at Miss Mabel's Magnificent Emporium, Victoria Road, Burgess Hill (next to Wickes).

The Help Point is open from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday (10am on Wednesdays) and 9.30 - 12.30 on Saturdays. Library opening hours are Monday - Friday 9.30am - 5.30pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm.

Please note that these collection bins are only for individual donations of a few items. If you have a larger amount to donate, please email supplyteam@burgesshillfoodbank.org.uk and we will arrange to collect it from you.
